:: DORI ::
Breed: Hound / Unknown Mix Gender: Female

Hi! I’m Dori!

All I can remember is this woman looking at me through the cage at the animal shelter. Didn’t feel that well, but I knew this was better than getting kicked around by humans while I was trying to find food and some place to rest. Next thing I knew, I was in a kennel at this place (Animal Medical & Surgical Center - AMSC).

Wow! Are these humans too! Very different! They treated me like I’ve never been treated before; they gave me love and hope. I started to have fun with them because they cared about me. I wasn’t scared any longer.

It was discovered that I had Luxating Patella’s; something inherited from my Mom & Dad. This means the knee cap will not stay in position and makes it difficult and painful to walk. But, good news! This is easily corrected! My foster mom loved me so much she ensured that I received the surgery I deserved.

So, as mom promised I had the surgery on my kneecaps. The people at ASMC treated me so well and I am now very happy and ready for my next adventure.

Now I’m recovering (too quickly as I have exercises to do: Hmmph! All I want to do is run and jump and wag my tail). I am doing my recovery at my foster mom’s house, yup that same person that was looking at me through the cage at the animal shelter. I do miss the people at the AMSC though; but I don’t miss being in a kennel all the time.

So, I’m looking for a home with humans like those at AMSC or like my foster Mom. My foster home would be perfect; but her dogs don’t like me much. She doesn’t want me to live like that. She wants me to have what she says I deserve; love. Can you believe my luck?! Being loved enough to get my surgery and a new chance at life. Please let Mom know if you are the right person. I think she loves me but wants to make sure I am happy.
