Who We Are
Valley Dogs is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN: 26-0896950), no-kill animal
rescue organization who's mission is to rescue cats and dogs that have been abandoned, neglected,
or otherwise placed in harm's way; to provide a sanctuary for the temporary housing of adoptable
cats and dogs, and to promote and encourage the responsible care of pets, especially
spaying or neutering, and vaccination of cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies. We have over
40 years of combined rescue experience and knowledge.

for hard-to-place or unadoptable cats. To promote and encourage
the responsible care of pets, especially spaying and neutering
and vaccination of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens."
We are a non-profit (EIN: 26-0896950) rescue for cats and dogs and depend exclusively on donations
and adoption fees. You can help support our efforts by offering monetary donations
and/or physical items. All donations are tax deductible! We will provide you with a receipt
for tax purposes.
We do not have a kennel / shelter type of facility. We believe the most effective and successful
way to match families and pets is to foster them in our own homes. Fostering dogs allows
us to train the dogs to have good doggie manners and also allows us to learn about the dog's
personality and character. Fostering the cats allow us to make sure they are litter box trained
and determine whether or not they get along with other kitties, dogs and various other 'situations'
that occur in everyday life. Ultimately fostering our rescue animals allows us to give you complete
information on the pet's behavior and how well he / she will fit with your family and lifestyle.
Where do our dogs come from?
Many of Valley Dogs dogs and puppies are rescued from city animal shelters right
before they're scheduled to be euthanized. Other dogs come to us from people who
have found them as a stray or abandoned, and often gravely ill. Unfortunately,
there are far more homeless dogs than we can care for, but we do our best to place
as many as we can into our Valley Dogs foster homes.

one of them has overcome the odds and is ready to be a positive, permanent addition to
your family!
Where do our cats come from?
Many of our cats and kittens are rescued from city animal shelters right
before they're scheduled to be euthanized. Other cats come to us from people who
have found them as a stray or abandoned cat, and often gravely ill. Unfortunately,
there are far more homeless cats than we can care for, but we do our best to place
as many as we can into our foster homes.
During kitten season, many of these animals are momma-cats with litters of kittens. Other
rescues include individual kittens as young as newborns who have ended up with
us. These cats live with our devoted foster volunteers, often getting bottle-fed by hand
until they are weaned. They are also raised with a lot of attention and love. If necessary,
they receive medication for common kitten illnesses. When they reach two pounds in weight,
they are spayed or neutered and receive their first shots. Then they officially go up for
adoption.
Our kittens have not spent their most formative weeks in a sterile cage, but in a
warm, stimulating home environment. As a result, they are bursting with love and energy.
Some kittens were born feral (wild) and have been rescued young enough to be
tamed. Often, these cats take longer to learn to trust and love humans. But when they do
come around, they are wonderful pets. We are preventing thousands of cats from being born
in the future by taming and altering each feral cat we rescue.
